Beg to differ here. The primary responsibility of guarding borders during peace-time is of the BSF. Asking the Indian army to guard the border will needlessly lead to less than ideal situation were its primary responsibility of repelling an invasion will be effected.
Moving the army to the border will also cause the reserves to be called in.
