WASHINGTON - Joe Biden’s task was to attack. Sarah Palin’s was to attack, connect and stick to her folksy script.

While both vice presidential candidates succeeded in their only debate of the campaign Thursday night, the stakes were much higher and the bar was much lower for Palin. So, in the contest of low expectations, Palin won.

From her first words, a confident Palin sought to connect with voters whose confidence in her qualifications has waned. She sprinkled down-home phrases throughout her answers — “bless their hearts” and “darn right.” Americans weren’t just people they were “Joe Six-Pack” and “Hockey Moms.” And who needs polls, she suggested, when there are youth soccer games with parents on the sidelines.

“I’ll betcha you’re going to hear some fear in that parent’s voice,” Palin said.

She defended Republican presidential nominee John McCain from Biden’s litany of criticisms, and took Biden to task over both his record and that of Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

Liberals were crying hard for McCain candidacy, his Birth Place is Panama but was in US controlled zone. That is considered equivalent to born inside US. When Liberals and media raised this issue , McCain provided his Birth Certificate etc.
Second, not sure how consitution will deal when person is born with dual citizen or carry some other country passport and switch back.
Bill Richardson once said, his mother came to US just to deliver him so that he can one day become President of USA, His father was American but was residing in Mexico.

I also think MSNBC is wrong. As far as I know, one of the qualifications requires you to be a natural born citizen, that is, born within the United States and its territories. While you can still obtain US citizenship for having been born to a US citizen in a foreign country, I don't think you are eligible for the Presidency.

Basically you can't be born in a foreign country (to a US citizen), acquire US citizenship simultaneously, live there for a long time, and then come to the US and become President. That defeats the whole purpose of not letting foreigners get into the White House.

Citizenship has to be through jus soli.

plus if you are running for some political office, most likely they will require you to relinquish any ties to former nation, that means giving up your citizenship. same in the military as well.

I too don't trust what's put out by MSNBC. I'm surprise it's not been caught/corrected.

Yes, certainly not correct. Because if that were the case, you can be born in India to a US citizen mother and Indian father and opt for Indian citizenship. And then 20 years later, acquire US citizenship on account of Mother's ties. Has to be jus soli, not jus sanguinis. To eliminate the possibility of foreigner becoming President.

Media's ignoring Palin not releasing Trig's birth certificate desipte Bill Maher's staff requesting it for couple weeks now. Another VP story - during '80s election, the then VP nominee Bush Sr (ex CIA head), was missing for a couple days smack in middle of the campaign. There's a book on by ex-CIA guy alledging that he was in Iran negotiating the *<b>delay</b>* in release of hostages till elections concluded. This never gained traction anywhere.
Even Bill C was greeted with a guy dressed as cigar in every city during '98 congressional election season.

You believe anyone standing outside with megaphone will draw attention?

Unless Hannity puts any new material, it's a dead issue. We have been over this in spring.
