As the Legend says, Holy cow Kamadhenu, to get rid of the curse was worshiping Lord shiva at Thirugokarnam which is 3 KM from Pudhukottai. One fine day Lord Shiva was pleased by Kamadhenu's worship and wanted to test her to relieve her with all the curses. Lord Shiva came in the form of a Tiger and started to hunt Kamadhenu. Kamadhenu by its nature who cannot say a word NO for whoever approches her, told the Tiger (Vengai in tamil) to wait till she finishes the daily pooja for lord shiva. Lord shiva who is in the form of Tiger was pleased by that act, relieved her with all the curses and Blessed her with all the powers she has lost and took her along to Heaven.
There is also a story related to a sculpturer who made two Godesses Deities. For more please hear to the podcast....
