But from posts, this could be a different temple somewhere in the Tanjavur district. I will check with my friend who knows a lot about temples there.
Regarding thanjai periya koil, it is under UNESCO. I also visited it during my recent trip and noticed nothing different there. The problem with ASI or UNESCO management is that it just becomes a tourist spot with no or little respect for agama and pooja. They are more interested in manicuring the lawns outside, than the temple itself.
