Peregrine, I am a big fan of handheld computers. I am into my second one (both are PDA phones, Siemens SX56 and Audiovox PC4100. Incidentally the later is manufactured in China (designed in Taiwan). These are really masterpieces of Engineeering and would put a motherboard to shame and they are very versatile, and extremely useful for the farmer. There are 2 problems, $220 is still out of reach for most farmers. But anyway I am glad India is in the game. Now the handheld computer industry is completely dominated by Taiwan and Korea. as are cellular phones.
