Surely Pathma, you are not asserting there is anybody here who would have it otherwise. But just as we accept that not everybody is cut out or has the tenacity to be a doctor (long hours, even longer training) so it is that few want to enter the priesthood even were they qualified. The priesthood is certainly not an occupation at least in the Hindu religion that is a coveted profession. Au contraire, people are abandoning it in droves and i see few if any dalits beating down the doors of temples demanding they be allowed to practice this profession. The fact that priests are the lowest in the economic pecking order (even below dalits) does not help matters any.
