A young woman, believed to be among 22 tribals from Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh who were being taken to Nagpur for being converted, has been accused of encouraging conversion of tribals to Christianity.
City SP Siddharth Chaudhary said Prabha Gaund's arrest has taken the total number of accused in the case to four.
<b>Three preachers, associated with the Church of Nazreen</b>, were arrested from a lodge here in the wee hours yesterday while camping along with the tribals on their way to Nagpur for a religious congregation.
<b>Prabha has been accused of encouraging conversion in the name of teaching at schools in Dindori.</b> Documents related to promoting conversion have been seized from her possession.
''Ten tribals admitted to embracing Christianity, <b>while three others agreed to being given inducements of work and money to attend 'Changai Sabha'</b>,'' Mr Chaudhary said.
He said the tribals and the accused had revealed the reasons behind conversion during all-day interrogation yesterday.
Jabalpur residents, Pravin Pawar and his son Sanat Pawar, and Dindori-resident Macleen Masih were arrested under section 420 of the IPC and section four of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act yesterday.
