Praneet, for the Gita check out..
Universal Message of the Bhagvadgita - An exposition of the Gita in the Light of Modern Thought and Modern Needs
Vol 1, 2 & 3
By Swami Ranganathananda
Swami Ranganathananda is the present President of the Ramakrishna Math. This book is based on the lectures he gave in Hyderabad over a period of 2 years(?) every Sunday.
He is a very knowledgable person. He includes modern scientific discoveries like Schrodinger's uncertainity principle and evolutionary biology and modern psychology.
The book provides the original verses in Devanagari, English transliteration, Shankara's commentary followed by Swami Ranganathananda's explanation.
It is published by the Advaita Ashrama. You can get it any of the Ramakrishna Missions in India or the USA.
You can also check out "Eight Upanishads" by Swami Gambhirananda.. (2 vols, Published by Advaita Ashrama again) This one has the Devanagari verses and English translation of Shankara's commentary. You may find it a little cryptic since it includes only Shankara's commentary, but it is a good start to get the essense of the Upanishads. Ofcourse the Bhagvadgita is the ultimate commentary on the Upanishads made by none other than the great Shri Krishna himself. <!--emo&
